We can keep helping clients who need support, legal advice and legal assistance during this challenging time.
Help parents who are worried and confused about how COVID-19 might affect their children and parenting arrangements;
Help families who need to work out money after separation;
Help families when Welfare is about to or takes children into care; and
Continue to provide assistance and advice to vulnerable clients at risk of family violence.
We have changed how we do some things
To keep our clients, staff and the whole community healthy and safe we will:
Not talk to people face-to-face
Do the duty lawyer services by telephone
Do appointments by telephone
Work with clients on their case by phone, text, email, post or video-call (if possible); and
- Do risk assessments, safety planning and other non-legal support (eg. referrals to crisis accommodation, problems with Centrelink, counselling and other therapeutic services) with our social support worker by telephone.

Our Helpline staff will talk with you about your situation, can send you some information, and if you need some legal advice will transfer you to one of our helpful staff to arrange some legal advice.
