The Darwin Domestic Violence Legal Service mourns the tragic death of a woman in Coconut Grove last weekend. According to reports, the body of a 36 year old woman was found inside a Coconut Grove unit on Saturday afternoon, with police treating her death as domestic violence related.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of yet another woman’s life to domestic violence,” said Zara O’Sullivan, Managing Solicitor of the Darwin Domestic Violence Legal Service. “Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.”

Domestic violence remains a pressing issue in our society, with devastating consequences for individuals, families, and communities. The Darwin Domestic Violence Legal Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to providing support, resources, and legal assistance to those impacted by domestic violence. This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for increased efforts to combat domestic violence and support those affected by it. Unfortunately, we did not see this reflected in the NT Budget in May 2024.”
